STUDY ON THE ESTIMATION OF MEAN TIME OF DEVELOPING DENTAL CARIES

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was performed to investigate well fitted distribution function to the age related DMFT data, and develops the method of mean time of developing dental caries.
The authors examined lower right 1st molar of 7,050 students in non fluoridated Chun ju city and fluoridated Chung-ju city. Thereafter, DMFT rates was fitted to the logistic distribution function,- and the density function was obtained through the differential of the fitted logistic function and sound ship function was also obtained from the fitted logistic function. And then calculated mean time of developing dental caries and above procedures were discussed.
The obtained results were as follows:
1. Age related DMFT was well fitted to logistic distribution function (P < 0.05).
2. Mean time of developing dental caries of lower right 1st molar was 6.57. years m non-fluoridated area and 8.57 years in fluoridated area.
